Provide direct and indirect client care under the direction of a nurse supervisor.
Use appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene.
Adheres to plan of care.
Observes, reports and documents client status.
Maintains a safe, clean environment.
Recognizes emergencies and knows protocols.
Safely transfers and ambulates client.
Maintains confidentiality.
Assist family in caring for assigned family member and at times relieving the family of such care.
Encourage the family to try new ways to provide care and support by using techniques that help the individual achieve the maximum possible level of physical, mental, emotional, and social well being.
Attends in-services as required.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Completion of the 9th grade, prefer high school.
Ability to read and write consistent with job.
Successful completion of a New YorkState approved home health aide training program.
Has a reliable means of transportation.
Attends in-services as required.
Meets health requirements.
