This position is for a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer to support developmental and operational test programs at Eglin AFB, FL. The applicant will team with USAF, contractor, and civil service engineers and maintainers as part of an integrated test team. The Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer will apply extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex problems in support of technical planning, system integration, instrumentation and data collection systems, and modification of unique flight test aircraft. The successful candidate will perform preflight and postflight of aircraft instrumentation systems; attend pre and post mission briefings; provide real-time instrumentation system support and data analysis. Provide mission control room and telemetry support. Participate in the T2 Mod process for instrumentation and data collection systems. Will be relied upon to support troubleshooting of instrumentation, data collection, and telemetry systems utilizing technical data, electrical drawings and schematics, and other available engineering resources. The applicant will interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters requiring extensive coordination between multiple organizations.

**Second shift, overtime, travel and weekend work may be required to support mission & staffing needs.

**Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.**

EngineeringAeronautics

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Electrical, Aeronautics, Computer Science discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Must be a US Citizen ; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills:

- Analog and digital circuit design and analysis.

- Signal conditioning, transducers, and data acquisition.

- Ability to interpret electrical drawings.

- CATIA, CCD, AutoCAD or similar design tools.

- Knowledge of electronics and experience in electronics troubleshooting techniques and tools, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other common laboratory equipment.

- Microprocessor firmware design and embedded system design

- Aircraft instrumentation concepts including: Selecting transducers and signal conditioning, Calibration methods, Data buses, Telemetry, Solid state recording and digital video recording / compression, Aircraft wiring, Avionics bus protocols including MilStd-1553, ARINC-429, IEEE 1394, Ethernet and Fiber Channel.

- Flight test instrumentation protocols and standards

- GPS and IRIG time standards

- Proficient communication skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
