The Traffic Data Collection Field Manager is responsible for managing a team of data collection staff. The manager will be responsible for setting up count equipment in the field. Types of data collection include turning movement counts, portable counts, pedestrian and bicycle counts and various traffic studies. The Field Manager will be required to work both inside of the office and in the field depending on the tasks being performed. Field operations may require working in a wide range of weather and roadway conditions. As a condition of employment, hire will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof of vaccination will need to be submitted as part of the interview/hiring process.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Manage field staff
Download count data
Counting vehicles at intersections (manually or via video)
Placing tubes in road to count traffic
Deploying cameras at intersections
Taking digital photographs and noting other field data information
Conducting various other studies such as vehicle occupancy and origin destination studies.

Must be able to work safely and efficiently
Must have basic computer skills
Ability to work within timeframes and deadlines, and follow strict procedure and safety guidelines.
Willing to be outdoors for extended periods of time
Must have reliable transportation and cellphone
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
Required Experience
High School Diploma
Experience with traffic data collection
Experience with Miovision and Jamar equipment for traffic data collection preferred
Competent in Microsoft Office
Working Conditions
This is a predominantly a field-based position. Travel will be needed between traffic count sites based on client and project needs and could include out of state travel. Field work is required and would be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid. and dry/arid conditions. Weekend work may be needed. Lifting (of greater than 25 lbs.) will be required as needed.
