Job Description

Our client in the manufacturing and production industry is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be part of the production team supporting the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have strong comprehension skills, the ability to quickly learn equipment, and the willingness to follow all plant procedures.

Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Durham, NC

Pay Range: $17/hr - $18.28/hr

Schedule: 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm (2-2-3 rotating)

What's the Job?

  • Transport, stock, and maintain raw materials and finished products for manufacturing.

  • Coordinate with department managers to ensure timely, efficient operations.

  • Understand material specs like paper thickness, foil differences, and stock criteria.

  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts, moving materials on and off racks.

  • Label and separate critical items.

  • Clean and perform maintenance on equipment.

What's Needed?

  • Strong comprehension skills and ability to quickly learn equipment (Automaton, hand, and powered lifts).

  • Able to understand material characteristics of products.

  • Forklift certified or able to obtain certification.

  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for machine setup and operation.
