Description: The Senior Manager for Missile Defense Programs is a member of the Lockheed Martin Government Affairs (LMGA) staff responsible for providing an integrated, customer-facing Missile Defense presence for Lockheed Martin. This position directly reports to the Director, Missile Defense Enterprise, on the LMGA Space, Strategic, Missile Defense, and Technology Mission Team. This position requires significant Department of Defense (DoD) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) expertise with specific knowledge of DoD, Joint, and Service Programs, and functions as a liaison to specific U.S. Government (USG) personnel with responsibility for Missile Defense matters. This individual is responsible for developing close working relationships with military commands and the civilian community to facilitate the discovery, development, evaluation, and qualification of new business opportunities and -keep sold- activities on Lockheed Martin contracts for programs of record pertaining to Missile Defense. This individual will facilitate alignment activities across Lockheed Martin business areas with respect to Missile Defense, ensure consistent messaging to the USG on assigned efforts, establish capability development priorities, support mission area campaign plans, and add value to LMGA and business area programs and activities. The ideal candidate has prior U.S. Government service in a Resource or Acquisition capacity, with direct experience in staff roles supporting MDA or a Service activity with missile defense equities, and post-Government employment in an Industry role supporting DoD programs.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide LMGA expertise to business area program, engineering, and business development staffs to assist in the pursuit of new programs, products, services, technologies, and capabilities.
- Support corporate and business area staffs to establish and achieve their domestic business objectives, with specific expertise in DoD, Joint, and MDA matters.
- Drive horizontal integration among the LM business areas in support of a -OneLM- approach to Missile Defense objectives.
- Maintain currency on global political and military developments that could impact Lockheed Martin's DoD programs and provide a consistent Missile Defense perspective to ensure Lockheed Martin positively influences Executive Branch decision making.
- Lead LMGA activities in corporate Integrated Product Teams (IPT) pertaining to Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD). Provide Government Affairs subject matter expertise in Homeland Defense, Hypersonic Defense, Defense of Guam, and related activities.
- Participate in capture activities, color teams, and strategy reviews as needed to provide Missile Defense Government Affairs perspective and expertise.
- Participate as a matrix team member in LMGA Service Teams, as required.

Basic Qualifications:
- Prior U.S. Government service in a Resource or Acquisition capacity.
- Deep familiarity with DoD, MDA, Joint Staff, and associated enterprises of each entity.
- Deep understanding of DoD budget process and procedures, and working understanding of the Congressional budget process.
- Deep understanding of Service requirements, research & development, and acquisition processes, policies and procedures.
- Working understanding of the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) and Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) processes.
- Familiarity with key U.S. Army and U.S. Navy systems employed in Integrated Air and Missile Defense missions, including but not limited to Lockheed Martin products.
- Active Secret clearance, with eligibility for TS/SCI.
Desired Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of Missile Defense or related mission experience and working-level technical expertise in one or more major Missile Defense mission areas.
- Direct experience in staff roles supporting MDA or a Service activity related to Missile Defense.
- Post-Government employment in an Industry role supporting DoD programs.
- A strong professional network within OSD, MDA, Joint Staff, and one or more Service Staffs.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with the JCIDS process, with ability to compare/contrast the MDA requirements and acquisition process with Service requirements and acquisition processes.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in analytic studies to understand their impacts on future strategic planning, to include supporting alternative architecture studies.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
