HVAC Technician - Split Shift at SpaceX

HVAC TECHNICIAN - SPLIT SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, repair, adjust, maintain and troubleshoot the following equipment:
Chillers and associated pumps/valves
Refrigerant controls and metering
Humidifiers
All types of compressors
Heat pumps to 15-ton
Split systems to 25-ton
Packaged units to 100-ton
Ductless split systems
Electric motors and associated controls (3-phase and 1-phase) such as contactors, starters, and relays
Various types of water pumps
Intake and exhaust fans
Heating systems (furnaces, boilers, and strip heat)
Economizers
Braze and solder using industry best practices
Use email and SpaceX's internal ticketing system to respond to repairs and requests in the day-to-day business operations of the company
Show a high regard for personal safety and safety of others and driving a culture of safety excellence
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
5+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of modern HVAC/R equipment and systems
Must be EPA 608 Universal certified
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with commercial building codes and knowledge of 2014 California Title 24 Building Code
Thorough knowledge of materials, equipment, methods and tools of the HVAC/R trade
Ability to read, interpret and understand technical language in specifications, schematics, and blueprints
Understanding of the basic refrigeration cycle and electronic/electrical theory
Strong work ethic and a hands-on -can-do- problem solving attitude
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Previous experience as a manager, supervisor, or leader
Ability to read technical instructions related to the trade in order to comprehend written work instructions, equipment operating instructions, and/or other documents related to the job functions
Able to work in a manufacturing environment safely and follow safety practices and regulations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as needed. Estimated shift times: 11 AM - 8 PM
Able to stand for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
Able to work under adverse conditions (e.g., dirty, noisy, or confined spaces)
