Our editorial team is looking for eager writers to contribute engaging Commerce Features contentunder the leadership of the Managing Editor.The selected candidates will have tremendous career growth opportunity within the organization.Please note that this role does not involve technical writing or video production.
Responsibilities
Write short features about products, "where to watch" or "where to play" content, and articles about big sales on Amazon and other online retailers. Compensation is $15-$20 per article, ranging from 400-700 words.
Please note that you will be able to pitch your own topics
This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.)
Pitch story ideas when none are readily available
Writers will be expected to write anywhere from 5-10 short features article per week
Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
At times, short features writers may be asked to write Buyers Guides, but this will be at the discretion of the Commerce Lead
We are looking for writers who:
Have a deep understanding of tech-oriented optics, such as video games, trading card games, and board/card games, collectibles, tech products, pop culture, computers, and related accessories. Entertainment, A/V equipment
A passion for the content and a drive to grow within the industry
Quick learner with a strong sense of urgency
Are quick to learn how to use CMS systems and photo-editing apps
Loves to research the best products and weigh the pros and cons to make sure they are making the best choice
Excellent command of the English language
Ability to write articles free of typos and grammatical errors
Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment
