Salary: $ 30 - $ 40 / per hour
Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a LPN/LVN Novice Nurse (< 12 months of experience). The Novice Nurse Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with care developed for each individual patient in accordance with physician's orders when applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted services
Demonstrates on each assignment the provision of skilled nursing care rendered in accordance with prescribed orders
Identifies and documents changes in patient's both physiologic and psycho-social condition
Notifies Director/Supervisor if applicable on the following;
Physician notification to obtain necessary orders for intervention(s) per state regulations
Changes in patient/client condition
Adheres to Maxim's policies and procedures and applicable protocols
Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient/client care requirements
Assures patient safety at all times and recipient of services provided
Verifies that documentation reflects patient/client collaboration, participation in plan of care, expected patient/client outcomes, and selected nursing interventions
Performs interventions, treatments, and medication administration, according to identified priorities, plan of care, facility policies and patient/client care outcome standards as applicable.
Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications
Evaluates patient/client and provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient/client environment
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment including universal precautions
Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications
Communicates observations and significant changes in patient/client status to the Director of
Clinical Services and/or Clinical Supervisor /Case Manager or licensed designee
Documents all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates this information as needed
Attends case conferences, team meetings, education in-services as required
Supports professional practice by observing the following;
Nurse Practice Act
Standards of Nursing Practice
Standards of Patient Care
Standards of Accrediting Body (ACHC, Joint Commission, etc.)
State and Local Laws
Patient Bill of Rights
Maxim Healthcare, Nursing, and Client's Hospital Policies
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
License Required
A minimum GPA requirement is expected. Authorization from Area or Regional clinical leadership should be considered when hiring an applicant who does not meet a 3.0 GPA threshold
Complies with accepted professional standards and practice
Current resume including clinical hours and rotations
Two letters of reference where possible. Prefer one reference to be professional reference (i.e. clinical instructor)
Current CPR
PPD or chest X-Ray if applicable
Successful completion of Maxim Homecare Novice Nurse Program orientation and training
