Vaughn & Melton, a JMT Company, is seeking a Design Technician to provide drafting and design support to engineers and project managers for transportation projects including roadways, streetscapes, and greenways.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing CADD software
Set up project plan sheets and ensure drawings are in accordance with CADD standards
Make basic engineering computations and prepare specifications.
Make quality control corrections to contract drawings
Collect and analyze data from various sources to support design activities
Prepare exhibits for reports, public meetings, or presentations
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Required SkillsRequired Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience using MicroStation or AutoCAD
Knowledge of design and drafting procedures
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office
Practical knowledge of Adobe or Bluebeam
Qualifications Preferred
Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
OpenRoads Designer experience
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
