HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
As a Human Resources Manager at Starbase, you will partner with executive leadership both onsite and at our headquarters in Los Angeles. You will have the unique opportunity to influence SpaceX's fundamental mission to enable humanity to become a multi-planetary species.
Starbase is a fast-paced vertically integrated site with the goal of quickly designing, testing and flying the next generation of SpaceX vehicles that will enable manned missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond. Starbase combines engineering, production, and operations all in one location to enable maximum progress. There is no other place like this in the world.
Day to day you will have work with the most talented professionals in the universe, empowering them to do their best work. You will develop and execute strategies to retain, coach and mentor your fellow SpaceX teammates. This role will serve as trusted partner in helping Starbase reach its full potential as the gateway to Mars.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner directly with leadership for site operations, booster and ship engineering, production on day to day operations
Develop, iterate and execute HR strategies specific to Starbase
Work with all SpaceX employees ranging from technicians to executive leadership
Build and lead a HR function supporting 1000 SpaceX employees
Responsible for overall HR support and maintaining insight for all HR activities for multiple groups and areas
Develop defined strategies that support the larger goals of the HR organization within assigned client group and inform work priorities
Operate as a key business partner to employees, managers, directors and senior leaders on workforce analytics, organizational optimization, leadership development, succession planning, communications, and other strategic initiatives
Counsel and provide assistance to employees and managers, guided by the company's policies and relevant laws/regulations
Work with managers and above to implement key HR recommendations and change efforts
Assist with the creation, documentation, and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and processes
Uphold standards of strict confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents
Maintain employee files and processing HR transactions
Hire, develop and retain high performing direct reports
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of professional human resources experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Prior direct leadership experience
Experience in manufacturing, government contracting, or start-up environments
Bilingual Spanish
Demonstrated success at building effective relationships
Ability to lead with a positive attitude and approach challenges head-on
Human resources certification or professional human resources affiliations
Experience using Greenhouse, UltiPro, and/or Workday
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use independent judgment to make decisions as well as organize and prioritize work
Demonstrated excellence thriving in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to work long hours and weekends as needed
Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed
