Let's talk salary. The salary range for this position based on what we are asking you to do in the role starts at $80,000 and goes up to $190,000, based on qualifications. Still not convinced? Allow us to elaborate. For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motived, team-oriented Cloud Engineer. This exciting position will have the chance to work on just about any aspect there is as it pertains to Cloud Engineering. We are in the early stages of establishing a Cloud Center of Excellence for a DOD client. The work currently encompasses Impact Level 4 and 5 for not only Amazon AWS but also for Microsoft Azure. In parallel to this, we are also establishing an IL6 environment for both Cloud Service Providers (CSP). There are even future plans for other CSP's, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Our team is responsible for maintaining these environments and ensuring the security aspects are within DOD regulations, but the fun doesn't stop there. We also work with Mission Owners (MO) who have an IT footprint that would like to migrate into the Cloud. We meet with them, discuss their requirements, and devise a plan of action to migrate them into the Cloud. This will happen in various ways. Some MO will just be provided a secured Cloud environment and they do the work, all the way to where they have nothing figured out and we will design, architect, build, secure and maintain their entire Cloud environment.
What does this mean to you? We have a need for all of the usual suspects as it pertains to Cloud IT. Transformational technologies such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, as well as all the supporting software including Terraform, Ansible, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, F5 BigIP and BigIQ, VIP's, VPC's, , Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure. Multiprotocol networks leveraging SSL, DNS, HTTP, RDP, etc. Virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMware, vSphere, Horizon. Don't worry, we didn't forget about their data. We also leverage container technologies and services such as Kubernetes, Docker, S3, CloudFront, and Amazon EBS. You get the picture. If Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure offers it, we provide it. This also includes IT DevOps, DevSecOps, IaaS, PaaS, Identity Access Management (IAM), Infrastructure as a Code (IaC), Patch Management, Secure Monitoring and Compliance. While you may only know some of these technologies, you will have ample opportunities to learn the rest!
Lastly, as we are working for the DOD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DOD SECRET clearance and an IAT Level II certification, as well as an AWS or Azure certification.
