The Payroll Specialist of Tax oversees and assists with balancing, daily audit, daily review and distribution of mail receive into the Burlington office and email correspondence, scanning and providing mail to team members and uploading documents to ADP Smart Compliance portal, respond to HR Central tickets and assign to Snr Payroll Specialist members based on their assigned jurisdictions, process A/P payments for non-ADP tax filings, pulling tax records and reports and saving to SharePoint site, pulling records for audits. To include special project assignments as assigned by Team lead or Manager. The incumbent is responsible to ensure adherence to legislation and regulatory compliance as well as Labcorp Global Standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Workday end to end payroll processing experience
Test execution experience, familiarity and ability to navigate throughout Workday
Data entry skill within Workday
ADP SmartCompliance knowledge
Upload tax documents onto SmartCompliance portal (such as agency notifications, POA paperwork, etc)
Research out of balances
Workday reporting familiarity, payroll controls/validations
Balancing weekly, quarterly and annual tax jurisdiction, processing's and filings
Daily, weekly auditing of tax elections
Balancing W-2's
Creating W-2c's
Analyze documents to determine action to be taken on daily mail
Maintaining logs/records
Researching inquiries
Completion of ad hoc projects and tasks, as required
Responding to HR or employee inquiries on the HR Central portal
Participate in internal and external audits when requested
Perform several advanced excel calculations in order to assist with required balancing after each weekly/biweekly payroll processing to ensure taxation is set up correctly within Workday
Requirements:
3+ years of payroll experience
Excellent Excel skills
Attention to detail
Systems experience, preferably Workday and ADP SmartCompliance
Good time management and prioritization skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proven payroll experience
Payroll certification is desirable but not required
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Accounting or equivalent education preferred but not required.
