Description
As an Enterprise Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing the technological landscape of our federal client. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around performing comprehensive technical and service planning and analysis, aligning with client requirements and business objectives. By leveraging your expertise in enterprise architecture, you will provide strategic recommendations for new applications, infrastructure enhancements, tools, upgrades, and services. These recommendations will undergo approval by the Government, ensuring alignment with client's overarching vision and strategy.
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
Conduct technical and service planning and analysis based on DOT requirements, encompassing availability, capacity, performance, backup, IT continuity, and disaster recovery services.
Provide recommendations for new technology implementations and upgrades, supported by detailed planning and analysis results.
Deliver Quarterly Management Reports to stakeholders, offering insights into utilization trends, capacity assessments, and rollout plans.
Technology Monitoring and Research:
Stay abreast of emerging technical trends through independent research, evaluating products and services for potential DOT utilization aligned with business and technology strategies.
Participate in technical and business planning sessions to establish standards, architecture frameworks, and project initiatives.
Requirements Gathering and Management:
Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to determine user requirements related to performance, availability, maintainability, and IT continuity.
Facilitate requirements-gathering activities, ensuring compliance with DOT security policies and standards.
Design and Documentation:
Define Migration Acceptance Test Criteria and configuration change test criteria, seeking approval from the Government.
Develop, document, and maintain Technical Design Plans and Environment Configuration based on DOT design specifications and requirements, ensuring alignment with IT architecture, virtualization methodologies, security, and disaster recovery mandates.
Maintain comprehensive design specifications and requirements documentation, accessible to DOT stakeholders in approved formats.

Top Qualifications, Skills, Experience or Certifications:
15 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years of experience as in Enterprise Architecture and its components. Must possess a Bachelor's degree. Degree may be substituted with 6 additional years of related experience.
Ability to architect solutions to accommodate complex business needs and design architecture to align technologies from network, compute, storage, platform, cloud, database, software, systems, security, mail and others. Will work with teams to improve business and technology processes through technology, using standard industry best practices. Must be able to support numerous large projects at one time, assist with future planning, and stay current on standard architecture frameworks for the Federal Government.

Note: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and the ability to obtain a public trust.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
