The Assistant Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for young children to preteens. Their duties include coming up with creative and educational activities, preparing and serving snacks to children and maintaining a clean environment for the children.

Provide instructional assistance such as but not limited to: facilitating learning centers; individual and small group instruction; facilitating and modeling play; assisting students with computers; and model good nutrition practices during meal/snack times
Demonstrate knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards policies and procedures.
Plan and maintain a safe, clean, learning environment, and assures the well-being and safety of children in her/his care.
Establish a caring professional relationship and a climate of mutual trust and respect for families.
Maintain a cooperative attitude of working together with center staff, volunteers, parents, and program specialists in planning and implementing classroom activities.
Timely and accurately complete all paperwork, including home visit forms, parent/teacher conference forms, lesson plans, and transition forms..
Assists in the preparation of materials needed for classroom instruction
Performs general classroom duties as assigned in a EHS Lead Teacher
