Pay Rate: $34.19
Applies insulating material on exposed surfaces of equipment such as boilers, tanks, air ducts, or pipes. Performs the techniques of cutting and applying insulation. Inspects applied insulation for conformance to specifications. Compiles production and performance reports. Fabricates, installs and maintains in good repair the sheet metal equipment and fixtures (e.g. machine guards, grease pans, shelves, lockers, tanks, ventilators, chutes, ducts, and metal roofing) of an establishment. Planning and laying out all types of sheet-metal maintenance work from blueprints, models or other specifications; setting up and operating all available types of sheet metal working machines; using a variety of hand tools in cutting, bending, forming, shaping, fitting, and assembling; and installing sheet metal articles as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Education or equivalent.
Two years' experience in the application of insulation lagging, including foam/ poly.
Two years' experience sheet metal forming.
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, measurements, and layouts.
Must possess the tolls of their trade.
Must possess a valid state driver's license
Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standards when entering industrial areas.
Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
