Description
SAIC has an opportunity for a Deputy Operations Manager in Springfield, VA! This position is in support of the Department of State (DOS) as a part of the Vanguard 2.2.1 contract. The Vanguard 2.2.1 program provides transparent, interconnected systems and security support for the Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) program.
This role is hybrid and currently requires 3 days/week on site. Subject to change at customer's request.
Execute the duties and responsibilities as a member of the Cloud and Services (CVS) Division
Assist Operations Manager in managing a team of engineers to execute, track project schedules, and document projects throughout the project management lifecycle.
Provide technical oversight of all engineering projects.
Design, integrate, and deploy IT solutions.
Incorporate security principles and remediations into an enterprise environment.
Provide operational engineering support to enterprise-level virtual infrastructure solutions.
Participate in on-call after-hours escalation responsibilities, supporting after-hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns.
Update system and process documentation, user guides, diagrams and SOPs as needed.
CMBD management for CVS owned/managed items in ceis/sunbird (own the records).
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree & 10 years of experience; Master's degree & 8 years; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
Knowledge or Training on VMWare and vSphere design, integration, and deployment.
Knowledge or Training on VMware and ESX 8.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
Experience with security analysis and remediations.
Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.
Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements.
Experience in leadership roles within a team environment.
Knowledge or Training with virtualization and automation technologies.
Knowledge or Training with storage/backup solutions.
Experience managing mixed team including direct labor, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Adaptability to high-paced environment and changing priorities/needs.
Required Clearance:
US Citizenship.
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Directory experience, particularly in a large environment.
Strong scripting skills.
LAN/WAN networking experience.
Splunk or other logging/monitoring platforms
Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
