Job Description:
Responsible for the development and implementation of processes that facilitate best practices in stroke including care coordination, patient care and achieving desired programmatic goals in collaboration with physicians and leadership teams. Responsible for quality assurance, developing goals and objectives, as well as developing and implementing department wide policies and procedures related to stroke care and Stroke Certification. This individual will facilitate further development of the stroke program. This individual will coordinate with the Emergency Department, Critical Care, Neurology, Nursing Units, Laboratory, Radiology and other support departments that impact the neuroscience delivery system. Participates in State Task Forces/Committee and works to developing the Stroke System of Care throughout the state in a professional manner consistent with Essentia Health's mission and values.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor of Nursing preferred
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
North Dakota RN Licensure
BLS within 30days of hire/transfer
Current NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required within six months of hire. Current specialty Stroke Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months (SCRN, CNRN or ASLS)
