Description: This is an accompanied expat position located at Misawa Air Base, Japan in Misawa City, Japan. We are seeking an experienced F-35 Mission Systems (MS) Field Service Engineer (FSE) who will expatriate under Services of Force Agreement (SOFA) privileges as a -Technical Representative- (TR) to support our Japanese Air Defense Forces (JASDF). SOFA TR privileges include: SOFA-sponsored driver's license for Japan access to US military bases in Japan for base exchange/commissary shopping privileges, access to US military health care facilities in Japan, etc.
Nose to Tail (NTT) FSE: The preferred candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Avionics/Mission Systems (MS). It is desired that the individual also be an emerging authority in Vehicle Systems (VS) and Supportable Low Observable (SLO), with the skill set to accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of VS, MS, or SLO.
The candidate will act as part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) technical interface to the JASDF on-site Customer (both Operations and Maintenance) in resolving issues arising from maintenance and modification activities for all matters dealing with the F-35 aircraft.
Must be a United States citizen. Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
Minimum 5 years total Fifth Generation aircraft experience that must include the following:
- At least 2 years Avionics/Mission Systems (MS) on Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft.
- Minimum 2 years combined Vehicle Systems (VS) and Supportable Low Observable (SLO) experience on 5th Generation fighter aircraft.
Desired Skills:
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:
-Bachelor's Degree
-Experience Maintaining, Troubleshooting and repairing various Mission Systems, Vehicle Systems and Low Observable of Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft.
-Fault Isolation and problem analysis experience at the sub-system level
-Technical report writing skills
-Experience with drawing/schematics reading and interpretation thereof
-Experience with Engineering tools to include but not limited to PDM, VAS, JEDI, JARVIS, JTD and CRE
-Knowledge of CATIA & System/Software Engineering Environment (S/SEE) or Similar
-Knowledge of Low Observable Coatings Requirements
-Knowledge of structure repairs. MROU or Depot Level.
-Airframe & Power plant (A&P) license

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
