MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (STARLINK)
SpaceX is looking for an experienced maintenance supervisor to oversee maintenance activities, operated over a 4 crew shift system, supporting the Starlink program. The maintenance supervisor will be responsible for building the team and developing all the processes necessary to create a high performing maintenance department. Candidate should have strong leadership skills, and extensive experience working in a fast paced environment, managing schedules and workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building and leading a competent team of multi-skilled technicians capable of dealing with the varying process equipment supporting the build process.
Create/update PM work plans and schedules for all assets; support the Engineers/Planner with establishing the type of corrective maintenance and requested completion date, based on the analyses of each asset in failure, in order to create the required PM schedule.
Partner with Engineering team, keeping up to date with all new developing technology that could improve our production operations
Building a spares inventory that support the maintenance strategy for each equipment type.
Responsible for supporting the scheduler to assign technicians and contractors to complete all PM schedule.
Responsible for supervising the execution of all Maintenance work including emergency breakdown situation and monitoring progress.
Troubleshooting as needed to ensure a timely completion. Communicate progress to the stakeholders at any time during the work.
Develop and manage metrics like Uptime, OEE and mean time to repair that will steer the correct decision making in the department.
Responsible for verifying all activities have been executed as planned and confirming that the asset is working again, according to required values. Establishes possible residual effects and take required action to prevent problems from reoccurring.
Responsible for root cause analysis reports to feedback learning and improvement opportunities to the maintenance engineers and asset owners to further improve maintenance performance.
Assign the correct skills to each situation and maintain a skills matrix for all technicians and identify their training needs.
Reports and keep a daily log of activities and create major breakdown reports and manage workforce shift utilization as well as absence request.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering and Production teams.
Ability to adapt to constant changing work assignments and a fast paced work environment.
Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.
Experience applying lean manufacturing principles, and efficiency methods.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift 25-30 lbs., lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
