Summary
This role leads key elements of first ever category and product management function within the brand marketing department, helping to develop a best-in-class category department. This person will leverage their strong analysis skills, strategic thinking ability, and experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver outsized value to the organization. This role is responsible for leading development and positioning of the MOD key categories and delivering innovation aligned to the business strategy. The person will leverage a wide range of resources to identify opportunities to build the business with specific focus on our key product categories within our menu portfolio, and new white space opportunities. Responsibilities include strategic assessment of market opportunities, trend tracking, white space exploration, concept validation, launching and promoting limited time offers, and leading the innovation process working closely with brand teams to plan a successful launch.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a hands-on candidate with a strong entrepreneurial spirit who is adaptable, strategic, and innovative. The ideal candidate will be able to balance business priorities with brand excellence.
The Sr. Manager will take on a leadership role within the Brand Management organization, overseeing our culinary categories to drive revenue growth and build the processes and structure needed to evaluate for optimization, innovation, and iteration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Finance, Brand, Digital, Supply chain, and Creative to deliver category insights and strategy.
Revenue management, as well as new concept generation, testing, and commercialization. You will be expected to become an expert, including culinary trends, category trends and KPIs, and consumer dining preferences and behavior.
Spearhead brand innovation opportunities for category growth by guiding the culinary concepts pipeline
Create, optimize, and refine product launches, in collaboration with Culinary, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure stores can consistently deliver top rated food with high standard operational metrics
Ensure projects are delivered on time through constant collaboration, communication, and project management with cross-functional partners - research, creative, culinary, and digital marketing.
Support delivery of formal category reviews as well as leading ongoing business analyses, tracking and evaluating KPIs to build key learnings
Team Development - grow and develop direct reports in the category space.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
5-7 years of working experience in category management, brand management, product marketing, or another related role
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
Retail or restaurant experience, preferably some management
Business acumen and exposure and understanding of the P&L, ability to manage conversations surrounding financial levers and able to articulate impact to project viability and path to market
Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Smartsheet
