Analyst, Tax
The Tax Analyst is an important role within the Transaction Tax function of T-Mobile's Tax Department. Responsibilities primarily include assisting T-Mobile in being compliant with state and local taxing jurisdictions nationwide.
What you'll do in your role.
Assist with the preparation and review of workpapers and documentation to support tax filings.
Obtain state registrations and licensing for T-Mobile retail stores.
Support outsourced vendors in tax filing and business license obligations.
Communicate as a tax liaison with internal teams, taxing jurisdictions, and outsourced vendors.
Analyze and research business license and transaction tax issues.
Assist with account reconciliations and research reconciling variances within GL accounts.
Remain current in legislative and tax policy initiatives that have significant impact to the company.
Participate in streamlining and improving transaction tax reporting processes through automation.
Support tax and other cross-functional initiatives, as appropriate.
Participate in special projects as needed.
The experience you'll bring.
1-3 years tax, accounting, or similar experience
BA/BA Degree in Accounting or similar field preferred. Will consider pursuing degree or additional work experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of general accounting principles
Experience with SAP or Peoplesoft
Proficiency in tax research tools and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with an emphasis on accuracy and meeting frequent filing deadlines.
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
High School Diploma or GED
T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines -fully vaccinated- as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
