Analyst, Tax

The Tax Analyst is an important role within the Transaction Tax function of T-Mobile's Tax Department. Responsibilities primarily include assisting T-Mobile in being compliant with state and local taxing jurisdictions nationwide.

What you'll do in your role.

  • Assist with the preparation and review of workpapers and documentation to support tax filings.

  • Obtain state registrations and licensing for T-Mobile retail stores.

  • Support outsourced vendors in tax filing and business license obligations.

  • Communicate as a tax liaison with internal teams, taxing jurisdictions, and outsourced vendors.

  • Analyze and research business license and transaction tax issues.

  • Assist with account reconciliations and research reconciling variances within GL accounts.

  • Remain current in legislative and tax policy initiatives that have significant impact to the company.

  • Participate in streamlining and improving transaction tax reporting processes through automation.

  • Support tax and other cross-functional initiatives, as appropriate.

  • Participate in special projects as needed.

The experience you'll bring.

  • 1-3 years tax, accounting, or similar experience

  • BA/BA Degree in Accounting or similar field preferred. Will consider pursuing degree or additional work experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles

  • Experience with SAP or Peoplesoft

  • Proficiency in tax research tools and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with an emphasis on accuracy and meeting frequent filing deadlines.

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines -fully vaccinated- as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. T-Mobile will require proof of vaccination prior to successful applicant's first day of work, and will consider requests for exemption from this requirement during the offer phase (1) as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs where the accommodation would not cause T-Mobile undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others, or (2) for other reasons under applicable law.
