SAIC is looking for a Engineering Manager who is passionate about helping our customers develop and deploy solutions that meet current and future maritime challenges. The Engineering Manager must have experience managing schedule on large, complex firm fixed price programs coupled with strong interpersonal skills. As Engineering Manager, you will work directly with one of our fastest growing customers as well as internal account leaders and program managers to ensure continuous and repeatable deployment of innovative, fully immersive training and simulation solutions. Our Engineering Manager will work closely with the Chief Engineer and project control account managers (CAMS) to manage development of capabilities and solutions and provide resource, budget, and schedule oversight of technical scope across application of maritime based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of large-scale distributed hardware and software solutions, and experience in managing technical scope on firm fixed price contracts.
Work will be performed on site in North Charleston, SC. For those outside of the local area, relocation assistance will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads program team in the performance of Systems Engineering activities, including: Concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting and design, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, system integration, system and operational performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis and estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that are within technical, schedule and cost constraints in a fixed price environment.
Delivers precise, comprehensive guidance on selecting and deploying the most effective solutions to fulfill business objectives, ensuring they accommodate both current and anticipated capacity demands.
Lead architectural milestone reviews and design sessions, leading the creation of world class solutions based on SAIC's offerings and ensuring seamless customer integration
Cultivates strong relationships with the customer's senior leaders and technical staff to support mission-critical objectives.
Acts as technical lead on capture efforts entailing compilation of labor and material estimates, authors the technical volume and supports customer engagement events
Manages several control account managers to ensure the technical aspects of the project are executed within scope and in accordance with resource loaded integrated master schedules
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience, PhD and nine (9) years or more of related experience
Demonstrated strong working knowledge of the product life-cycle design, development, production, and sustainment of physical products.
Minimum 5 years of experience in DOD contracting, to include management of Fixed Price programs to include technical leadership positions of increasing responsibility.
Experience managing technical scope on a contract hundreds of millions in total value
