SAIC is seeking a Network Voice Engineer . This is a hybrid remote role and the ideal candidate will be located near Stafford, VA or North Charleston , SC.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to)
Responsible for the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of networks and network components supporting data, voice, and/or communication activities
Prepare the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signaling
Conduct Verification Site Surveys (VSS)
Conduct QA/QC inspections
Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis
Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
Provide tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
Reviewing Engineering Artifacts for Technical Evaluations
Compiling and processing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP)
Responsible for testing of new and existing network systems
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience.
Able to design, document, deploy and configure Cisco Unified Border Element Session Border Controllers (SBC) to support the transition from Primary Rate Interface (PRI) to Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunks
Experience developing voice solution designs and engineering enterprise voice systems including extensive experience with Avaya and Cisco call management tools and technologies
Experience with Layer 1-2 Networking
Experience with EOL/EOS Analysis and completion of BOM submissions
Familiar with PON Networking
Technical understanding of Wireless Networking
Experience in network services, Cisco AS or high-level support, or large-scale Network Design experience
Understanding of Voice Architecture (CUCM, Voice Gateways, and VoIP)
Understanding of Telecommunication Facilities and supporting internal Auxiliary Infrastructure
Development, planning, and execution of test, validation, and cutover methodologies
Desired Skills/Experience:
Cisco and Avaya Voice and Network professional level certifications are preferred
Experience with Unified Communications
Experience in Wireless and MPLS
Familiar with Remedy (WO and CRQ process)
Experience supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), the United States Marine Corps (USMC), the United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), or other Government Agency supporting Network Modernization
