Job Description:
As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: Compile, review, analyze, and perform quality checks on collected water quality, water supply, economic and population growth data. Perform modeling including evaluating existing models and working on updates to existing models for the development of Water Resources, Air Quality, Environmental Impact studies and plans. Assist in developing the modeling approaches and performing economic analysis using IMPLAN and planning horizon benefits analysis using SWAP, Transfers Pricing Model etc. Assist with developing groundwater modeling approaches and assist with model development, calibration, and analysis of alternatives for inclusion in client deliverables. Collaborate with engineers, designers, etc. to research, analyze or resolve complex environmental impact related design issues. Prepare text, figures and tables for technical reports and memorandums for environmental impacts studies and feasibility studies. Assist with project planning, scheduling, and budget tracking. Work with subcontractors to coordinate, review, and evaluate activities. Assist with invoicing/reviewing subcontractor invoices. Provide technical guidance and training to junior- and mid-level staff. Mentor staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm. Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs). Develop project approach, level of effort, and budgets for proposals. Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices. Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs and provides technical expertise and recommendations based on past project knowledge. Develop poster/paper for presentation at a conference. May work from home up to 3 days per week. This position requires 15% domestic travel to client sites/meetings.
The salary range for this position is $141,066 to $197,642 per year.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Must possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning, Environmental Engineering, or a related field and at least 11 years of experience as a Water Resource Engineer, Environmental Planner or a related role. In the alternative, a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning, Environmental Engineering, or related field and at least 12 years of progressive experience as a Water Resource Engineer, Environmental Planner or a related role would be acceptable.
-At least 11 years of experience working on California water resources projects including experience with the Central Valley Project (CVP) and the State Water Project (SWP)
-At least 11 years of experience developing NEPA analyses, CEQA analyses, federal Feasibility Reports and Studies, Environmental Impact Statements/Environmental Impact Reports (EIS/EIR), and Environmental Assessments/Initial Studies (EA/IS)
-At least 10 years of experience with water transfers (cropland idling, groundwater substitution, and storage transfers) in California, including the market, major participants, opportunities, and limitations and in the development of EIS/EIR and EA/IS documents for water transfers
-At least 10 years of water resources and economics modeling experience including use of IMPLAN, SWAPP, Water Transfers Pricing Model, California DWR's CalSim model, MicroFEM, and MODFLOW
-At least 10 years of experience related to surface water and groundwater conditions in California.
