A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STORE MANAGER
As a Store Manager, you are responsible for leading retail store and commercial sales operations in order to achieve sales and profit goals. Under your exceptional leadership, team members are inspired to take pride in their work, provide above-and-beyond customer service, and reach sales goals. You also work hard to develop teams for future roles. Your style of management fosters teamwork, respect, accountability, and trust.
As a hands-on leader, you model all company policies and safety rules while providing excellent service and follow-up to commercial customers. You resolve customer complaints and disputes effectively. You work with commercial and retail sales staff to ensure that commercial and retail sales programs and promotions are effectively demonstrated, taught, and executed.
As a strategic leader, you also come up with appropriate strategies to increase productivity and performance levels. You are goal-oriented and continually achieve sales targets. With attention to detail, you accurately complete transactions and paperwork. You feel great about the important role you play in driving our success as well as that of our commercial clients!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A STORE MANAGER
Proven sales performance in a retail store required
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience as a retail store manager, with experience that includes outside commercial sales, preferably within a durable goods setting
Strong technical aptitude, including a basic understanding of electronics
Ability to accurately read gauges and work with hands
Valid driver's license and a good driving record
A degree in retail management would be preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Can you effectively prioritize and delegate multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines? Do you have strong communication skills? Can you effectively manage confrontational situations in a controlled and courteous manner? Do you enjoy coaching and mentoring others? If so, you might just be perfect for this position!
STORE MANAGER WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time retail management position typically works47 hours per weekonMonday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, workingone or two weekends per monthwith days off during the week to compensate.
