Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Specialized Technician to join our MFG TEAM! As the Specialized Technician we need someone to manages the technical operation for the production of the Quartz manufacturing process.

Primary Objective

Works with factory equipment and produce products. They monitor the quality of assembled products and create maintenance logs and reports on production results, according to company protocol.

Major Function and Scope

Develops process improvements and implements new equipment and technology.

Aids in the training of personnel to perform activities affecting quality and manufacturing processes.

Assists in writing and teaching process procedures to ensure corrective and preventative actions are taking place.

Documents operating procedures and checklists.

Accountable for problem solving in assigned priority areas utilizing corrective measures to maintain product quality standards.

Assists in new product start-ups in manufacturing.

Supports the implementation of new manufacturing equipment.

Works with glaze prep and glaze line personnel to resolve technical problems with regards to shade variations, glaze defects, application problems and other problems as needed.

Ensures operations are within specifications.

Ensures inventories, screens, silicon rollers, etc. are ordered, received and meet specifications before accepted into in production.

Performs other duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of ceramic industry

Strong technical background in the floor tile/ceramic industry

Competencies

Core competencies include strong communication skills, organization, data analysis and interpretation, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to train and coach and to coordinate priorities. Foreign language (Spanish/Italian) a plus.
