TheLogistics Coordinatoris a key part of our domestic and international vendor shipping and getting essential products to our stores and our customers nationwide. Located at theBatteries PlusNational Distribution Center in Glendale, WI, within the metro Milwaukee area, theLogistics Coordinatorwill enhance product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect transportation, distribution and inventory. In addition , this role will create and review procedures for transportation and distribution to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.Batteries Plusis a growing national retailer with 720+ stores nationwide.
The idealLogistics Coordinatorcandidate will have 3 years of related experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or Transportation while being familiar with shipping and OTR transportation regulations. Does this sound like your next opportunity in your career? Please apply today!
Responsibilities:
Provide inbound routing for domestic purchase orders as well as outbound routing on truckload shipments and shipments with special requirements
Process all OS&D claims for inbound and outbound shipments and work with carriers to improve quality of shipments
Ensure all shipments offered for carriage comply with state, federal and HAZMAT regulations
Create and analyze all transportation reports
Utilize and update the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route and optimize freight movements and drive efficiencies
Measure daily, weekly, monthly shipping and logistics quality metrics
Support policies and compliance plans and training regarding HAZMAT and Homeland Security shipping requirements and training
Resolve freight delays, carrier problems or vendor issues; escalate risks or opportunities as appropriate
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years related experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or Transportation
APICS Certification and/or willingness to pursue
Understanding of logistics concepts and planning tools and software (MRP, WMS, TMS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
Experience with a multi-shipper or a Tier 1 / Tier 2 Transport Management System (TMS)
Familiarity with shipping and OTR transportation regulations
