Integration Engineer (Starlink Production) at SpaceX
Redmond, WA, United States
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
INTEGRATION ENGINEER (STARLINK PRODUCTION)
As a Integration Engineer on the Starlink team you will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge, experience, and creativity in developing novel solutions to advance one of the most ambitious missions that SpaceX has undertaken to date, the Starlink satellite constellation. You will interact with almost every part and system on the vehicle and work hand-in-hand with technicians and other groups to bring the vehicle from a raw material to fully functioning, spaceflight-worthy vehicle. You will own the relationship between our production and design engineering teams and provide input into the design and development of new and existing hardware and take a lead role in developing manufacturing and test processes on our current and next generation vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design high-level vehicle integration architecture including build flow and test concept of operations
Evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements, then develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing processes to bring products from prototype to high-volume production in a rapidly-evolving environment
Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet volume production demand
Refine and execute procedures for the checkout and integration of satellite flight hardware and ground support equipment
Develop and implement novel tooling and test solutions and assembly procedures to enable rapid and high-quality builds of SpaceX hardware
Responsible for enabling day-to-day execution of the vehicle integration and test flow, managing work orders, and the driving of non-conformances into actionable items and system improvements
Demonstrate extreme ownership of production outcomes at every stage of development and production
