The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.
Our Huntsville team is seeking an intern to support event campaigns including Heart Walk and Heart Ball. Individuals will obtain practical experience and receive hands-on training in various disciplines, including volunteer recruitment and management, community event planning, community partner networking, and program development and implementation.

Internship Overview:
Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
Internship Duration:Summer (May 20 - August 9)
Hybrid position. Intern must be based in Madison County or Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, or the immediate surrounding area.
Salary: $23.00 per hour
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of fundraising activities and logistics support for the Heart Walk and Heart Ball for the Huntsvillemarket.
Work with Event Coordinators, Development Directors, and Executive Directors to support event planning and logistics of the above campaigns.
Assistance with pre-event planning, day of execution, and event wrap-up projects.
Work within event support and data systems such as Event.Gives.
Develop collateral for events including social media graphics, programs, event signage, and more.
Help with volunteer recruitment and management.
Support community events relating to National CPR Week or other tabling requests, as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Interest in events, marketing, public relations and nonprofit work.
Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
Ability to work professionally with colleagues and professional volunteers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
Intermediate use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Canva, and PowerPoint.

Reliable Transportation
Minimum availability of 20 hrs/week., Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30am-5pm, with additional weekday evening events, and some weekend events.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
