Job Description:
Responsible for general maintenance in a medical specialty campus which includes routine, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and extra assigned tasks. Position will inspect, maintain and perform complex repair on pressure boilers, HVAC systems, fire safety systems, emergency generators, patient care equipment and other systems as needed. Must have a basic understanding of construction techniques. May provide work direction, within the scope of their license, to Maintenance Engineer I. Helps to improve competency for other engineers in their area(s) of expertise.
Education Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited college or equivalent, which includes courses in heating, ventilation, refrigeration, electrical and related controls and one (1) year HVAC field experience. OR, minimum four (4) years both classroom training and extensive full-time experience in building maintenance and/or electrical training including two or more specific areas of training (electrical distribution, emergency power, plumbing, refrigeration, temperature controls, electronics, HVAC, high and low-pressure boilers, pneumatic tube system, medical gas, carpentry, fire detection and suppression, and repair of the same).
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Current Class -Special- Minnesota State Engineers License or ability to obtain within 6 months as required by the facility or state.
2nd Class B or C boiler operator's license, as required by the facility or state, within 18 months of hire or transfer.
Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer.

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
