JMT is seeking a traffic engineer to perform various traffic engineering studies. This will consist of evaluating various locations and determining improvements needed to solve problems. Traffic modeling will be required to evaluate the locations. Additional duties will include supporting the traffic data collection program including manag ing field staff, coordinate with clients, develop task proposals, and develop technical engineering reports. As a condition of employment, hire will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof of vaccination will need to be submitted as part of the interview/hiring process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Perform traffic engineering studies including capacity analysis

  • Perform traffic simulation modelling

  • Manage count requests and coordinate with the Data Collection Field Manager.

  • Write task proposals, coordinate studies, and review and submit data to the client.

  • Coordinate traffic data collection contracts

  • Conduct engineering studies including capacity analysis.

Required SkillsRequired Experience

  • EIT required and willing to take PE in the future.

  • 10 years of experience in traffic engineering

  • Familiar with Highway Capacity Manual

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Team oriented with strong capability to work independently

    Working Conditions

    This is a predominantly an office-based position with occasional field investigations. Travel based on client and project needs and between JMT offices is required. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid. and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.
