The Social Catering Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by actively seeking and securing catering contracts and sales opportunities. This role involves guest acquisition, proposal development, and coordination with the catering and event teams to ensure successful execution of catering services. This role plays a pivotal role in promoting catering services, exceptional hospitality, and maximizing profitability.
Responsibility
- Event Planning: Collaborating with guests to plan and customize catering services for events,
such as weddings, birthdays, parties, and other social events.
- Proposal Creation: Creating customized catering proposals and quotes based on guest
requirements, budget, and event details.
- Sales and Revenue Generation: Actively seeking and securing catering contracts and sales
opportunities to meet revenue targets.
- Menu Consultation: Advising clients on menu selections, dietary options, and service styles to
meet their event objectives.
- Event Coordination: Collaborating with catering and event teams to ensure seamless execution of
catering services.
- Marketing and Promotion: Developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract new
guests and promote catering services.
- Market Research: Keeping up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market demands
within assigned market to identify new opportunities.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- High school diploma and 2 years' restaurant operations experience; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
- College classes or degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred but not required.
Restaurant catering sales experience is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
- Must have valid driver's license and maintain passing MVR checks.
- In-dept knowledge of restaurant operations and / or food and beverage sales.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively meet all deadlines.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends depending on restaurant and market
needs.
- Excellent team-building and motivational skills to be applied through leadership to build strong
relationships with Guest and staff.
- Excellent social intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and can quickly adapt to CRM software.
Environment and Working Conditions
- Travel up to 50%
- Could work weekends
- Candidate must already reside in one of the designated states that this role will cover.
