Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Sr. Customs Compliance Analyst to join our TEAM! As the Sr. Customs Compliance Analyst, we need someone who will be able to operate as subject matter expert on brokerage operations, communicate with customs/government officials and maintain compliance with import laws and regulations.
Primary Objective.
Sr. Customs Compliance Analyst is responsible for executing day-to-day brokerage operations including daily planning and prioritizing in-house-brokerage activities reporting directly to the Customs Compliance Manager. Employee will ensure customs entries are filed timely and compliantly as mandated by U.S. Customs regulations. This position supports internal and external customers. In addition, this role assists the Customs Compliance Manager as required.
Major Function and Scope
Researches and troubleshoots import shipments acting as second level support to Custom Compliance Analysts, conduct post entry corrections, review systems, and conduct audits to meet ISA requirements.
Provides operational and reporting support for compliance team initiatives via ACE and/or Ad Hoc Reports though Power BI.
Handles Customs Broker inquiries, classification requests, and troubleshoots related issues in support of both internal and external customers.
Communicates with Customs and other government officials, including the authorization of duty payments to Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Maintains procedures to ensure compliance with import laws and regulations and provides procedural guidance and assists personnel in resolving complex import related issues.
Identifies key opportunities for continuous process improvements, implements solutions to eliminate risk and identifies compliance deficiencies.
Assists with Customs Compliance training for internal departments.
Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
Customs Broker License and/or Certified Customs Specialist (CSS) required.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics preferred.
3 or more years' experience in customs brokerage and/or internal customs compliance experience.
Dal-Tile is a self-filer and experience with preparation of 7501 and 3461 documents is a benefit.
Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, procedures and documentation.
Strong knowledge of HTS and classification.
Familiar with Descartes ABI software a plus.
SAP experience is a plus.
Competencies
Proficiency skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, and word-processing. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Basic math skills. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
