The Environmental Health and Safety Director will lead environmental health and safety initiatives. This role will ensure Kisco's effort in maintaining the safest environment for residents to live and associates to work. They will ensure the community is compliant with regulatory and Kisco's operational and safety standards. They will also oversee housekeeping, laundry, and custodial services and create a culture of service that exceeds expectations.
What will I do every day?
Lead and implement Kisco's Environmental Health and Safety strategies and processes at the community. Must collaborate effectively with other CMT members to develop and foster a strong safety culture for our residents, associates, families, and in the most sustainable (environmentally friendly) way.
Support and ensure compliance with Local/State/Federal regulatory requirements and Kisco standard through implementation of the Safety & Disaster Preparedness Plan and other relevant policies and procedures.
Perform inspections and risk assessments
Identify, conduct, and facilitate safety-related all-associate trainings and just-in-time trainings as needed
Interview, hire, train, manage and retain highly effective associates and create a climate of associate engagement through coaching, mentoring, teambuilding, performance management, recognition and professional development. Identify and develop talent for future succession opportunities.
Assumes leadership role on committees and initiatives, including, but not limited to, Safety Committee and regulatory program administration
Perform other related duties as required
What will I need to be successful in this role?
Required:
Bachelor's degree OR three (3) years experience with OSHA and/or Federal/State/Local regulations in occupational health
Training experience
Preferred
Supervisory experience of housekeeping or customer service staff in Housekeeping, Healthcare/Hospitality or Senior Living
Masters degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to build effective teams, hire, influence, and develop people
Flexible, adaptive and excels in fast moving environment with multiple priorities
Strong problem-solving skills for analyzing difficult situations and finding effective solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent competency in technology, including: Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom applications
Basic understanding of accounting and financial analysis
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
