The Sr Art Director, Motion Media is responsible for creating video content that is conceptually, visually, sonically and emotionally engaging. They will work closely with the Creative Director, ACDs, Sr. Designer, producers, content managers, vendors, business partners, video editors, sound engineers and other creative professionals to bring each project's vision to life. All video work will support the broader team's strategic roadmap and represent the Target brand.
As Sr Art Director, Motion Media, you will:
Develop concepts for video projects, partnering with Associate Creative Director, Motion Media, ensuring they align with business and creative objectives and audiences
Craft compelling narratives, mood boards and storyboards that effectively convey the intended message, thematic approach and story arc
Present concepts to Creative Director, Senior Communications Director and other leaders as needed
In partnership with the ACD, Motion Media, help define and maintain the overall creative vision for each project, ensuring consistency in style, tone, and quality
Contribute to the production process, partnering with Creative Producers and ACD, Motion Media
Provide art direction on set, guiding talent, camera angles, lighting setups, and compositions to ensure they align with the storyboard and creative vision
Manage the post-production process, giving direction to video editors, colorists and audio engineers on cuts, transitions, effects, pacing, color and sound to ensure the final product meets the creative standards
Film and/or edit short form videos for Target's owned channels
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and staying within budget

About You:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 4 years of professional video concepting and art directing
Ability to tell authentic, engaging stories through video content
Experience creating video content for social media channels
Current on video and social media trends
Strong sense of aesthetics, knowledge of sound design and ways to appeal to the senses through video work
In-depth understanding of video production processes, successfully communicating needs for shoot direction, lighting, sound, and post-production
Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects and other relevant tools
Knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite applications a plus
Comfortable with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and traveling for shoots
Strong problem solving, critical thinking, presentation and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on both quick and long-term projects
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
