Description
SAIC is seeking a Launch Systems Integration Engineer to be an integral participant in satellite ground system command and control software requirements development, design analysis, coding, and verification. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and is located in Chantilly, VA.
Job Duties include:
Reviews and coordinates changes to specifications, ICDs, and system level requirements documentation for spacecraft and launch vehicle interfaces.
Tracks development issues and attends unit, subsystem, system level design reviews.
Supports launch and spacecraft on-orbit test, as required.
Identifies and assesses emerging risks and develops & evaluates proposed burn-down plans.
Reviews developer's readiness to proceed into spacecraft test at various levels of assembly.
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
14+ years professional experience.
Technical expertise in spacecraft to launch vehicle interfaces, system level integration, test, and launch to include preparations for launch, launch processing, and launch operations.
Subject matter expertise in spacecraft to launch vehicle interface development, coordination, and verification as well as the requirements generated for the spacecraft side of the interface.
Knowledgeable of flight operations of space vehicles and the launch exercises necessary for launch team preparation.
Experience in DoD IC acquisition and program management processes.
Ability to work collaboratively with personnel from multiple functions and at all levels of the customer organization to deliver results; strong networking, interpersonal, customer service skills, team building and problem-solving skills with an ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
