We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Essentia Health as a Medical Technologist (MT) or as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). The Medical Technologist will perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries; will interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge, exhibit problem solving skills of a highly complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting. May be required to perform phlebotomy and specimen processing duties and will participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation. Meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing. The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries. Will also exhibit problem solving skills of a complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, phlebotomy, along with customer service.
Education Qualifications:
Medical Technologist:
Graduate of a four year degree program in an accredited school of clinical laboratory science or equivalent discipline.
Medical Laboratory Technician:
Graduate of an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician OR
Meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative route
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Medical Technologist:
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), Medical Technologist (ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA) or equivalent is required within one year of hire.
Medical Laboratory Technician:
Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or National Credentialing Agency (NCA) or equivalent within one year of hire.
