Summary Position is located in a DeCA Commissary store and incumbent serves as a liaison between the store and the HQ Accounts Control Section (ACS). The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of store-level work associated with accounts and price maintenance. Incumbent may also be assigned supply clerical duties. Additional vacancies may be filled from this announcement. Responsibilities Position responsibilities include: Performs basic account maintenance procedures to ensure files, logs, and reports are complete. Ensures adequate stock and operating supplies are maintained. Operates computer systems to input or correct data, and produce documents, reports, shelf labels and signs. Verifies receipts against invoices. Physical requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and performed in an office setting. There is occasional walking, stooping, bending, and carrying and lifting of items without assistance (e.g. boxes of copier paper) weighing up to 25 pounds and stocking of light items. Work Environment: Most of the work is performed in an office setting with normal heating and cooling systems. Incumbent may walk in the commissary areas as necessary to obtain and/or share information and to conduct inventories and stocking duties. Incumbent may be subject to shift work, irregular tours of duty, and weekend work. Overtime: Occasionally Fair Labor Standards Act: Nonexempt Covered by Bargaining Unit: Depends on location Obligated: No Positions will be filled under the DoD DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) and are subject to the restrictions of the DoD referral system for displaced employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must meet qualifications and requirements by the announcement closing date. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) defines the qualifications for this position under the Group Coverage Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. To qualify, your application package must show that you possess one of the following: (1) One (1) year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position (general experience) such as handling bulky/heavy items, operating a cash register, assisting customers, and maintaining stock levels, OR (2) Two (2) full years of successfully completed education above high school at an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college or university, OR (3) A combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification requirements. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 60. The sum of the two percentages must equal 100%. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Examples of general experience include progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of Commissary Support Clerk. Education Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and a copy of your transcript is required as part of your application package. For the application process, unofficial transcripts are acceptable as long as they contain the applicant's name, the name of the school, the date and degree that was awarded, and the list of classes and credits earned. Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. If selected, you must provide an official transcript before we set your entrance on duty date. Foreign Education. If using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show a private organization specializing in interpreting foreign education programs has deemed the foreign education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program or show that a U.S. accredited college or university has given full credit for the foreign courses. Additional Information Applicants with a Permanent Resident Card (aka Green Card) are authorized to live and work in the U.S. but are not eligible for employment in positions requiring U.S. citizenship. This position requires U.S. citizenship. The minimum age requirement is generally 18 years of age. Employing those under 18 may be possible under certain circumstances.
