What We're Doing

Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System, protecting both the United States and its allies. This large, fast paced team, is composed of many small agile teams working together dynamic environment with a common mission to develop and deploy leading-edge missile defense technologies.

The Work

The C2BMC-SEIT product team is seeking a systems engineer that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the system design, integration, and verification of the C2BMC system.

A successful candidate will be expected to

- Support the development and review of interface documents, system/subsystem requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development

- Support system use case development

- Perform the work under the direction of the Systems Engineering Lead, coordinating with multiple product owners, tech leads, team members, and government customers to ensure high quality products

- Support requirements development and managed in DOORs

- Act as a technical interface to the Missile Defense Agency customer counterparts as required

- Author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews of systems engineering products

Basic Qualifications:

- Must currently hold an ACTIVE DoD Final Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position

- Must possess an understanding of systems engineering process and principles

- Demonstrated experience in working in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions across the systems development life cycle

- Demonstrated experience in successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions

- Demonstrated experience in decomposing requirements from parent level requirements to lower system/subsystem level requirements

- Demonstrated experience in developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., Interface Control Documents, Use Cases Briefings, Sequence Diagrams, etc.)

- Demonstrated experience in working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions

- Demonstrated experience in implement engineering plans within a large, complex project

Desired Skills:

- Experience working within an Agile development environment

- Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense

- Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering practices and tools

- Familiarity with software development on large systems

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
