Through this manager role within HR Central, you will have overall accountability for all employee Leaves and Accommodations, with a deep focus on customer service and Associate experience. This includes oversight from strategic design, compliance, vendor management, operational excellence, and associate engagement and education. You will lead a team of associates responsible for the day-to-day oversight and case administration.. You will be responsible for the development of your team as well as removing barriers and creating an engaging work environment.
What you will do - Essential Responsibilities
Overall lead for all associate leave of absences and requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), requiring monitoring and interpretation of applicable legal requirements and regulatory environment, benchmarking, strategy, innovation, and process excellence and continual improvement
Serve as a point of escalation for team and associates for sensitive and complex issues as they arise and ensure appropriate resolution and stakeholder management occur
Evaluate and identify insights in program data and financials to inform strategy and respond to leadership inquiries
Provide vendor oversight, direction and issue management; strong discipline in vendor management is key to ensuring that expectations are met or exceeded
Manage stakeholders including senior leaders and members of governing committees as needed relative to issues, recommendations, benchmarking, strategy, etc.
Makestrategic recommendations and implement new vendors, programs and processes with the larger picture in mind; act as department leader; lead other projects/duties as assigned
Purpose of the role
This role is a Subject Matter Expert on all Leaves and Accommodations, providing strong thought leadership, analysis and decision-making, strategic recommendations, and complex issue resolution. This role focuses on understanding company and associate needs and working to ensure our programs meet them today and, in the future, anticipating the needs of the organization and the marketplace more broadly. You will influence change and improvements with the assigned benefit vendor partnerships, ensuring that the vendors are meeting or exceeding our expectations and driving them to better offerings and outcomes in the future. This role leads a team and works closely with both internal and external partners as well as leaders at varying levels across the organization. This role will lead driving analyses and insights on program data, market data and financial data. And this role requires strong people leadership skills with a commitment to supporting the development of high-performing associates and creating an engaging environment for them to thrive.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education/Experience:
5+ years experience in Leave of Absence and Accommodations management strategy/innovation/administration/analysis, and/or other related job experience required
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state disability legislation and programs including FMLA, ADA and state leave laws.
2+ years of People leadership experience is required
College degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field is preferred
Advanced knowledge of computer-based applications and technology, like Microsoft Office systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams; Experience with case management software and HRIS systems required
Experience with HRIS systems required, Workday preferred

Expresses opinions and innovative ideas; connects team goals with larger departmental and organizational goals
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Leaves and Accommodations; serves as the -go to- for all escalated issues
Strong working knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations governing benefit plans; ability to understand, interpret, and stay current on laws and regulations
Knowledge of the field and marketplace, serving as the resource to guide leaders and governing committee members for understanding the environment in which our programs exist
Has an innovative mindset; anticipates the future; willing to offer a -disruptive- perspective
Proven ability to effectively manage and develop high-performing teams; plays an active role in associate development and continuously offers support
Ability to prioritize own work and that of the team in a fast-paced, lean environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
