Job Summary
The Delivery Driver Transformer position is located in Cayce, South Carolina. This position provides support to Electric Operation by performing inventory and delivery functions with single and three phase transformers, three-phase pad transformer placement, and oil spill response functions. Delivers materials and equipment between the transformer storage yards and crew quarters. Primary responsibilities include delivering material and equipment daily to crew quarter locations and/or placement at customer sites, daily loading and unloading material and equipment from company and/or vendor trucks using gantry and truck-mounted cranes and forklifts, weekly receiving, handling and inventorying new material and equipment, occasional cutover of transformers (up to 100 kVA pole-mounted units) from 120/240 to 120/208 volts on the secondary winding, and responding to oil spills. Some duties may be performed near primary voltages up to 25kV.
Additional duties include assisting with the testing and inventory functions of rubber goods, equipment, stock material and non-stock material. Functions performed with rubber goods include assisting with routine tests, maintaining inventory levels, and shipping schedules for rubber gloves, blankets, line hose and/or mechanical jumpers. Also assists with breaking down, washing, inspecting, testing, and delivering Extendo Sticks, Shephard Hooks, and Shotgun Sticks.
Also works with recloser maintenance functions including documentation of equipment transfers between inventory and field installation locations, preparation of units for testing, and final stenciling / labeling of reclosers. These functions can occur in the repair facility and occasionally in the field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, valid driver's license with a good driving history, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months of hire, the ability to attend and pass crane training certification and basic computer skills. The physical requirements of this job may be strenuous and include heavy lifting up to 75 lbs., bending, stooping, reaching, and the operation of equipment (i.e., forklifts). Must be able to spend most of their working day walking and standing and must be dependable, punctual, have a positive attitude and have the ability to work well in a team environment. Must have moderate mechanical aptitude and good written and verbal communication and decision-making skills. Must be available to work after hours, scheduled overtime, and callout for department emergencies as required.
