SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support a contract, with the primary work location in Reston, VA .
Note: This position will be mainly onsite at our location in Reston, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
Ensures software standards are met.
JOB DUTIES :
Develop, maintain, and test web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript .NET Framework, and SQL Server. Conduct analysis and collaborate with subject matter experts in relevant business areas.
Assist with modernization of applications to utilize emerging technologies such as .NET Core, Angular, and Docker. Work with DevOps engineers to maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines.
Plan and track progress on development work within Agile processes using GitLab.
Write software documentation covering system specifications, technical requirements and capabilities.
Ensures software standards are met by participating in code reviews, retrospectives, and by implementing tests.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE :
Bachelor's degree and one (1+) year or more of relevant development experience.
Experience in Software Development to include the following:
C#, ES6 JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, SQL.
Experience in Software Version Control, Software Configuration Management (Team Foundation Server or GitLab), and Microsoft SQL Server.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with at least an Interim Secret security clearance to start. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Required Certification: Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification within 12 months (1 year).
