Unit Description
Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 for St. Barnabas Health, with an average patient daily census of 250, located in the Belmont section of Bronx, NY.
The Food Service Manager 2 will be report to the Operations Manager, train and manage a team of approximately 85 union employees. This role willdirect and participate in all of the daily patient food operations, have direct interaction with patients and nursing staff while ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance.
Preferred candidates will have:
At least 2 years college-associate's degree or higher
Spanish speaking-bilingual
At least 2 years management experience in food service
Union experience a plus
Prior experience in healthcare setting
A passion for a high level of customer service
The ideal candidate will have :
A work history demonstrating strong leadership skills as well the ability to work collaboratively
The ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills
SERV Safe certification and be well-versed in regulatory and sanitation practices
The ability to regularly analyze patient satisfaction data and implement additional measurements and action plans in these areas to achieve optimal unit performance.
Oversight of the Patient Services area, patient food service production, and diet office
The ability to ensure excellence in service quality and delivery schedules
The ability to act as the liaison between the dietitians, nursing managers and the units. This role will participate in patient safety, patient experience initiatives.
The ability to work with the diet office to review and address any patient menu/meal concerns, daily patient meal rounding
