We are seeking a Controller to oversee management of financial statements, prepare forecast and budget data, analyze & prepare key financial schedules/deliverables and assist in other special reporting projects as needed.
The day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to: General Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform financial statement analysis, review and compare P&L's to budgets.
Responsible for oversight of financial statements
Interface with senior management to review performance, explain and control variances and assist in achievement and tracking of objectives.
Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company. Bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management.
Assist corporate and venues management in preparation of all key budget schedules across an array of restaurants; analyze budget data and assist in preparation of required budget schedules.
Monitor cash flow of all properties.
Establish property level policies for EOM Accruals.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Month-End Close
Establish week-end and month-end checklists and ensure completion
Review balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries.
Ensure proper treatment under GAAP.
Prepare variance analysis and participate in month-end financial review.
Systems and Internal Controls
Manage process improvement plans and new systems development.
Ensure accounting systems/subsystems are appropriate for max efficiency and planned growth.
Periodically evaluate internal controls procedures and effect change where necessary.
Update policies and procedures on a semi-annual basis to ensure they are still applicable.
Qualifications:
10+ years' experience involving financial statement preparation and general ledger/accounting (hospitality experience preferred but not required).
CPA required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Oracle experience preferred but not required
High degree of initiative. High degree of organization

Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
