At Labcorp, our Global Tax Team plays a critical role in the success of our business. We are seeking an Indirect Tax Analyst to join our group. Reporting to our Senior Manager - Indirect Tax, this role will be responsible for administration and coordination of indirect tax functions across a complex, multi-entity organization. The ideal candidate will have a technical understanding of indirect tax across all jurisdictions, experience assisting with the development and implementation of tax planning strategies, and assisting with indirect tax audits. This role requires a self-starting critical thinker who can work within the parameters of a project as well as present objectives and results.
Responsibilities of a successful candidate will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate preparation, filing, and payment of indirect tax returns, both directly and with third-party vendor(s)
Assist Tax and Accounts Payable teams with tax inquiries related to vendor invoicing
Assist Tax and Accounts Receivable teams with client exemption management and invoice inquiries
Assist with indirect tax research and data analysis involving audits and/or administrative appeals
Monitor, track, and assist with compliance for indirect tax changes related to the business and our industries
Perform GL account reconciliations and record tax-related journal entries
Coordinate with third-party consultants as needed to assist with compliance and department operations
Assist with documenting internal controls and processes that interact with/impact our tax group
Adhere consistently with all Labcorp employment policies and practices
Consistently demonstrate integrity, a commitment to Labcorp policies and procedures, including but not limited to confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
Education
Experience/Qualifications
2+ years of indirect tax experience in public accounting and/or a large corporate tax setting
Knowledge of indirect tax software such as Vertex and Avalara - including implementing, maintaining, and interfacing with other systems
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products - especially Excel, using vlookups or other formulas to analyze and manipulate data
Knowledge of accounting systems - Peoplesoft and Oracle preferred
Experience using tax research tools, Sharepoint, and Alteryx a plus
Experience assisting with voluntary disclosure agreements, audit defense, and notice responses
Proven ability to research, understand, and apply indirect tax regulations, interpretations, court cases, etc. to various fact patterns
Ability and willingness to embrace change
Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across functional teams both in-person and virtually

Pay Range: $70,000 - 80,000
