As a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer on the A to Z QA team, you will work closely with Product Management, Software Development Engineering, User Experience Design, and Customer Support groups to understand the product vision, requirements, and customer usage models to develop appropriate test strategies. You will be working closely with the QAM in setting the QA team's technical vision and roadmap, developing and tracking project schedules. The successful Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer has strong customer focus and is obsessed with continuous quality improvement; they are experienced and highly committed to creating world-class automation for feature testing and regression; they are able to develop and drive a high-level strategy, as well as to take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy. Key job responsibilities

  • Work with business, product, and development teams to understand product vision and requirements

  • Understand how all elements of the A to Z ecosystem work together and developing QA/QE approaches that fit the overall strategy

  • Responsible for the development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test automation solutions

  • Oversee the development and execution of test plans, monitoring and reporting on test execution and quality metrics

  • Work with a team of quality engineering professionals to ensure the highest quality product delivery

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience

  • Experience in manual testing

  • Experience in automation testing

  • Experience scripting or coding

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with the ownership of software project testing: defining test strategy, writing test plans, designing and executing software tests, iterative development process improvement

  • Demonstrated experience leading the creation and execution of large feature testing strategies

  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, continuous deployment, and test suite development and maintenance

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing high-quality automation to solve test problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results

  • Experience in working with 3rd Party Integration Partners

  • Experience in agile development methodologies with continuous integration

  • Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness

  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings

  • Experience testing mobile applications and platforms such as Android or iOS

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
