This position performs diversified administrative support functions vital to the day-to-day clinical operations and revenue integrity for the department. In this position, one must possess and display strong interpersonal skills, communicate effectively to internal and external customers and respond to all inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs customer service functions of answering phones, recording and forwarding messages and greeting customers in a polite and timely manner. Registers patients in the system and rehab specific EMRs (Epic and WellSky) to ensure accurate billing. Task includes pre-registration and re-registration every 30 days. Verifies insurance coverage for all rehabilitation services and documents detailed coverage in the EMR. Must access various electronic insurance portals and phone trees to determine insurance coverage. Maintains accurate clinical schedules, scheduling patients for initial and recurring therapy visits in the rehab EMR. Ensures therapy plans of care are completed and routed in a timely fashion to comply with regulatory requirements and system-wide quality standards. Responsible for point-of-service collections, including co-pays and deductibles. Records and processes collection in accordance with system policies. Processes daily billing charges, completes charge reconciliation to ensure billing accuracy, and identifies and assists with correction of billing errors. Performs general office support including but not limited to typing, data entry, filing, copying and scanning. Assist with reports and data collection as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Skills: Proficient in keyboard and data entry (requires 95 keystrokes/minute corrected). Knowledge and experience in use of computers. Experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams. Good interpersonal skills in order to positively represent both the department an the system to callers and visitors. Must be able to work calmly and efficiently under stress in a busy environment. Must be self-directed and detail oriented, with attention to accuracy.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Inspects assigned areas, observing and evaluating compliance with department and regulatory agency procedures and quality standards. Identifies, develops and implements continuing education for all departmental staff. Work closely with and motivate environmental services staff to ensure work is performed properly and personnel are following schedules (area assignments.) Conducts training sessions with environmental services personnel regularly and as assigned by the manager. Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the manager. Perform administrative functions as needed and requested. Ensures department inventory of supplies and equipment is appropriate. Assures equipment is in proper operating condition. Monitor and inspect equipment daily to ensure it is maintained in a clean condition and in good repair. Track supply inventory, report supply usage and order needed supplies. Prepare daily inspection reports addressing activities, projects and quality management assignments. Interview and recommend applicants for positions in the department. Counsel employees and recommend termination when necessary. Observe cleaning and maintenance needs throughout hospital and submit written repair requests and project plans. Develops, revises, and updates departmental policies and procedures, and prepares monthly management and statistical reports per established time schedule. Performs all Environmental Services related tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, patients, staff and customers. Ensures compliance with and appropriate training of infection control and hazardous materials policies and procedures. Maintains good public relations with all patients, nursing and staff personnel. Participates in hospital activities and special events. Ensures the staff maintains a high standard of personal appearance. Performs others duties as directed.
Education: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Skills: Requires effective interpersonal skills. A demonstrated knowledge of all areas of position in order to train and direct staff. A demonstrated ability to lead personnel. Years of Experience: Requires three (3) years of Housekeeping experience with a minimum of three (3) years progressive management experience.

Acts as a resource and is a liaison between phlebotomy staff and Laboratory /Point of Care Team. Cross trained in defined core job functions and patient care departments. Routinely perform difficult specimen collections, such as re-draws and misses. Assists in the training of new associates or students. As needed, performs all pre-analytic tasks associated with sample preparation including, but not limited to, centrifugation, decanting, and specimen packaging. Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies by attending mandatory in-services and continuing laboratory education and participating in continuous quality improvement. Maintains and upgrades personal professional development. Maintains appropriate par levels and organizes supplies and equipment in work areas as assigned. Notifies appropriate associate when re-order levels are reached, and equipment needs to be repaired. Maintains protocols and procedures for excellent patient care and follows guidelines for infection control management. Demonstrates good teamwork. Willingly accepts adjustments to assignments and adapts willingly to changes in workflow and processes. Provides excellent customer service incorporating ProMedica's core values. Performs other duties as directed or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or Equivalent.
License/Certification/Experience:
A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR one year phlebotomy experience.
Successful completion of an academic program which included substantial practical clinical phlebotomy experience (i.e.: 3+ week clinical student rotation program in a hospital setting).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional registration preferred [i.e., PBT(ASCP)]
1 year experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: Employee will follow policy and wear all PPE as recommended.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to continuously move between hospital departments, and floors while maintaining confidentiality on workstations.
Must be able to understand directions and be able to communicate and respond to
inquiries between all levels of hospital staffing, patient care and requires effective interpersonal skills.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to disease bearing specimens, blood, and body
fluids, odorous chemicals, carcinogens, mutagens, low level radiation, electrical hazards, and flammable liquids. Must be prepared to wear appropriate PPE and follow PPE guidelines.
Must be able to differentiate colors.
Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
Must be able to move, push, lift or carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.,
up to 75% of the time.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, potentially 100% of shift.
Shifts for this position are 12 hours in length, covering the patient care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays and weekends.
