Position Summary:
RNs play a vital role in the collaboration and implementation of the continuum of care for their patients. It is never the same each day in terms of patient interaction and scope of treatments. This position is ideal for candidates that want to use their critical thinking and problem solving skills to make a true difference in their patient's health and well-being.
Unit Overview:
39 Bed Unit - Intermediate with a 4:1 Patient to RN ratio
Patient Population: Diagnostic Work-Ups, Surgical Intervention, Major Surgery, Step Down out of ICU, Adult Cystic Fibrosis, Wound Care, and Accredited Bariatric Surgery (2-3 patients/day)
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of ProMedica Acute Care Hospitals. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions made are based on patient and family centered care philosophy utilizing evidenced based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Scope of Service:
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.
BSN Preferred Current Ohio RN license Current CPR / BLS Specialty certifications as required

- The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during his/her licensure period. At least 1 hour of contact hours must be related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE.
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
- Must be able to attain all health requirements as identified by the organization (i.e., PPD, respirator training, vaccines, as appropriate).

A national leader in treatment of heart attack, congestive heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care, ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital is also a pacesetter in Michigan for obstetrics, emergency care, intensive care, controlling infections and organ donation.
Under general supervision and according to the established policies and procedures, coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Maintains the standards of nursing care, policies and procedures of the system and department, also maintains an awareness of patient and family conditions and nursing care needs, including physical, psychological and social needs.
Administers medication and performs treatments prescribed by physician, using professional judgement in treating patients and communicating with physicians to modify care as appropriate. Institutes and assists with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patient such as cardiac arrest.
Assists physicians with special tests and procedures as needed (e.g. thoracentesis, lumbar tap, etc.)
Assesses objective and subjective signs and symptoms of patient, formulates nursing diagnosis that addresses the focus of nursing care to be provided to the patient, establishes nursing care plan with patient goals or critical care path with expected outcomes, implements nursing care plan, evaluates and updates nursing care plan in accordance with current patient status.
Organizes, direct and delegates nursing care assignments according to the needs of the patient and personnel skills, qualifications and capabilities. Coordinates nursing care of patients when scheduled for therapy, surgical intervention, or procedures by other departments.
Participates in orientation of new personnel, which may include student nurses, graduate nurses, registered nurses, nurse aides/assistants and monitor technicians, to work environment.
Participates in staff meetings and participates on committees for improving nursing care. Participates actively in rehabilitative needs of patients including teaching and discharge planning.
Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (i.e., infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric) as written in the department standards.

Degree from an accredited nursing program.
Two years of acute care experience preferred
Must possess current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan
Current BCLS certification. Specialty certifications as required.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Respiratory Care Assistant will be competent to care for patients of all ages to include infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric population, dependent on the area assigned. The Respiratory Care Assistant is able to perform the skills/procedures validated by an accredited respiratory care program and approved by the state issuing the limited practice license, required by the assignment with supervision, according to regulatory standards, clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures approved by the Medical Directors and Administration. This individual performs the duties and responsibilities outlined below as assigned, under supervision from the Respiratory Care Department leadership team and the Medical Directors of Respiratory Care. ACCOUNTABILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY One on one nursing preceptorship to enhance nursing knowledge, awareness of nursing role, enhancing confidence, acclimation to environment, and socialization to the team. Functions under the direct supervision of a specified registered nurse clinical extern preceptor. Preforms patient care duties delegated and supervised by preceptor for their designated patient assignment. They will act as part of the care delivery system while observing and engaging in nursing process and care planning.
PROGRAM DETAILS Work one on one with a specified registered nurse clinical extern preceptor under 100% direct supervision in the clinical setting. Engage in required didactic educational assignments as scheduled. Participation in progress evaluations required. Work 36-40 hours a week during 12-week intensive extern program. Clinical Extern will transition to Per Diem and work 2 - 12 hour shifts a month (per diem agreement) as a clinical extern for the extent of 12 months.

Position Summary:
The acute care Registered Dietitian works in collaboration with the inpatient heath care team to provide the patient centered nutrition care based on evidence based best practice guidelines.
Accountabilities:
Identifies patients that may be at nutrition risk based on hospital protocol.
Obtains accurate and timely nutritional history from patient and/or family using appropriate interviewing techniques.
Performs age-specific nutrition assessments for our diverse patient population based on historical, clinical and lab data, including nutrition focused physical assessment when indicated to identify patients at risk of malnutrition.
Provides appropriate interventions and initiates individualized nutrition care plans utilizing the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics 'Nutrition Care Process'.
Provides on-going monitoring and evaluation of the patient's needs at regular intervals to assure that nutritional goals are being met.
Provides appropriate recommendations for enteral and parenteral nutrition support if the patient is unable to maintain adequate oral nutrition. RD may manage enteral nutrition support and oversee parenteral nutrition support when consulted by provider.
Attends and participates in inter-disciplinary rounds on assigned units as needed.
Provides education on therapeutic diets to patients and/or care givers based on the patient's needs and provider consults. This includes assessment of the patient's learning needs, barriers to learning, preferred learning styles and educational level of the patient.
Documents assessments, reassessments and care plans in the EMR using the standardized 'Nutrition Care Process' as per hospital policy and procedure.
Participates in performance improvement activities as assigned.
Provides nutrition care to out-patients in areas such as diabetes and oncology clinics based on provider referrals.
Provides care according to organizational ethics, licensure, and the Standards of Professional Practice for Dietetics.
Applies the Joint Commission and/or other regulatory standards in the provision of nutrition services.

Position Summary
Our Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, as well as other common areas of their job assignment such as rest rooms, nurses' stations, corridors, conference rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, kitchens, offices, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and waiting rooms. Other assigned areas may include surgery OR's, labor and delivery, emergency department and other procedural areas.
Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements as well as proper and safe chemical use.
Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies and equipment evidence by properly stocking and restocking environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion.
Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling.
Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Position Summary :

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of ProMedica Acute Care Hospitals. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions made are based on patient and family centered care philosophy utilizing evidenced based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Scope of Service:
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.
Education and Experience
BSN Preferred
Current Ohio RN license
Current CPR / BLS and ACLS
1 year of Operation Room experience preferred
RN experience in an acute setting preferred
Physical and Position Requirements
Must be able to be on-site within 30 minutes while on call
Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations; and prolonged periods of standing
Must be able to lift medium materials (50lb max), non-material handling; continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling and squatting
Must be able to read and speak the English language

Licensure/Registration/Certification
- Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR training.
- Specialty certifications as required.
- BSN preferred.
- The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during his/her licensure period. At least 1 hour of contact hours must be related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE.
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
- Must be able to attain all health requirements as identified by the organization (i.e., PPD, respirator training, vaccines, as appropriate).
- Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, and prolonged periods of standing. **
- Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry light to heavy patients or equipment. **
- Must be able to lift medium materials, non-material handling; continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling, and squatting.
Occasional sitting, stairs, and kneeling. **

Position Summary:
Coordinates the overall activities of patient care areas and hospital departments on the assigned shift. Provides resource assistance and guidance to nursing personal regarding patient care, established policies, procedures, and standards. Ascertains the need for, and adjusts the job assignments for nursing personnel ensuring that each assigned area has the resources necessary to maintain a safe patient care environment. The supervisor contacts the administrator on call for direction with critical problems or concerns.
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program plus current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan. Must have Bachelor's degree or obtain degree within five years from date of hire.
Skills: The administrative and management skills necessary to coordinate and control the nursing services during the assigned shift and to administer hospital policies and procedures. Strong clinical and interpersonal skills in order to provide guidance and direction to subordinate nursing personnel regarding complex nursing treatments, development of nursing care plans and so forth; ability to interact with patients of all ages and patients' families.
Years of Experience: Three to five years of progressively more responsible nursing experience.
Certification: ACLS and NIMS certification required or completion is expected within 6 months from date of hire.
