Corporate Finance functions to serve as the support to Business Unit Finance leads, Operations Business Unit leads. Provide supervision to three to six Corporate Accountant and Senior Corporate Accountant positions (subject to change).
POSITION SUMMARY Performs at a high level of professional competence in general accounting work including the ability to work at both broader and detail levels. Supervision of a variety of financial duties and responsibilites that support data collection, analyses, report development, periodic audits and the monthly financial statements produced in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Prepares special project analysis including summary reporting. Perform variance analysis and research and communicate explanations. Works within the framework of the ProMedica Health System culture to nurture and cultivate synergies inside and outside area of responsibilities. Collaborates with other departments and leaders to create solutions-based alternatives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Manages the monthly financial close and related reporting for assigned division or department. Maintains all accounting records and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting. 2. Performs various accounting functions related to the month end close process to ensure records are accurate and closed according to the established deadlines/guidelines. 3. Reviews accounting records for accuracy and appropriate reporting standards. 4. Informs Director of Accounting of financials issues, irregularities, and control issues. 5. Interfaces with various departments to obtain and report financial information. 6. Effectively communicates financial information with various levels of employees. 7. Maintains confidentiality for sensitive financial data. 8. Ensures internal controls are designed and operating effectively. 9. Researches accounting issues and serves as a resource for other employees. 10. Assists Director of Accounting with various projects, reports, and duties. 11. Assists in staffing department with capable people. 12. Plans, directs, and reviews work of direct reports. 13. Implement and maintain a positive, cooperative and supportive team culture. 14. Reviews direct reports job performance, measuring against individual, division, and System goals and objectives. 15. Works with human resource department on any employee/labor concerns or issues. 16. Keeps Director informed of any performance or employment issues. 17. Independently seeks continuous learning and skills improvement opportunities. 18. Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
Education: Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis on Accounting or Finance Skills: Experience with accounting and financial reporting. Strong communication skills. Leadership with team focus, prioritizing communications with an emphasis on listening and collaboration. Demonstrates sound decision making through analysis of the problem, development of alternatives, solicitation of input from others and from codification and regulations prior to developing a solution. Years of Experience: 5-7 years of accounting and financial reporting experience with leadership experience. License: NA Certification: NA
