Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Construction Estimator to join our team! In this role you will get to perform estimating activities for a wide variety of project types and delivery methods.

The Senior Construction Estimator should have a minimum of 5 years of a combination of field and/or estimating experience, preferably with an at-risk direct-hire multi-disciplinary heavy civil infrastructure contractor. The ideal candidate will have experience on DOT/ Highway, Water / Wastewater, Industrial, and/or Commercial markets . Candidate must understand the essentials of heavy civil contracting business.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop comprehensive estimates in accordance with common construction estimating practices and software

  • Perform detailed review of project plans and specifications

  • Perform quantity takeoffs for civil and structural construction activities.

  • Prepare top-down conceptual and bottoms-up detailed estimates

  • Utilize HCSS estimating software to create activities, develop crews, and determine production rates to accurately reflect the means and methods required to build the work

  • Compare productivity rates with historical data

  • Coordinate with estimating team to ensure all contract scope is covered

  • Initiate contact and solicit quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers

  • Collaborate with other estimators, schedulers, and construction engineers to develop efficient construction means and methods

  • Actively participate in bid reviews

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Understand the essentials of the heavy civil contracting business, application of products, basic code knowledge, and good organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated experience with heavy civil estimating practices.

  • More than 5 years of related practical work experience in the direct-hire heavy civil construction industry familiar with products, methods, and estimating activities.

  • Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with construction contract documents, drawings, and specifications.

  • Excellent communication skills including ability to effectively present ideas and work product to team members.

  • Ability to work independently and within teams as appropriate

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • Familiarity with typical project controls and estimating software such as Microsoft Office, Primavera scheduling software, and HCSS HeavyBid is preferred.

  • Experience with CAD / 3D modeling is ideal (Trimble Business Center HCE, Civil 3D, OpenRoads)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Scrum Master / Agile Coach to join our team! In this role you will get to be on the forefront leading SAFeR Agile teams in support of the FORGE program.

The Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution System (FORGE) is a program that will utilize the resources and capabilities of both the legacy Space Based-Infrared System (SBIRS) and the Next Generation OPIR system. FORGE will use current ground architecture to leverage newer technologies, facilitate the addition of new systems, and incorporate these into a common C2 architecture that includes infrastructure, platform, and core services.

The Scrum Master will work with a talented team of various vendors, engineers, and the customer to develop the FORGE ground baseline.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.

  • Ensure that Scrum practices are adhered to and continuously improve the effectiveness of these ceremonies using SAFe principles and Agile practices.

  • Act as a servant leader to the Scrum team, removing impediments and helping the team stay focused on delivering high-quality increments.

  • Coach team members on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and self-organization.

  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, encouraging open communication and accountability.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure that the backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and refined.

  • Assist in defining clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Track sprint progress, manage scope changes, and ensure that the team adheres to sprint goals.

  • Monitor and report on team performance metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and sprint progress.

  • Identify areas for improvement and work with the team to implement process enhancements.

  • Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders and leadership on team progress and challenges.

  • Facilitate communication between team members, stakeholders, and other teams to ensure alignment and transparency.

  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing feedback from retrospectives and other sources.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Qualified candidates will have experience or interest in the full System Design Lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, implementation, algorithm development, verification, and maintenance of systems deployed within advanced computing environments or onto tactical mission platforms. Candidates should be motivated to solve problems independently and in small multi-disciplinary teams striving to achieve specific goals in mission-relevant timelines.

  • Technical knowledge of Linux computing environments, communication system theory, TAK (ATAK, WinTAK, iTAK, TAK-X) and radar theory - to include modulation/demodulation, RF fundamentals, signal processing algorithm development, X-MIDAS programming, and digital to analog conversion systems is strongly desired.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's in relevant field such as computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, applied mathematics, or other relevant area, or demonstrably equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of related professional experience.

  • Experience with C/C++, Python, or JAVA within Unix/Linux programming environments.

  • Experience working on TAK (ATAK, WinTAK, iTAK, TAK-X) programs and technologies

Utilities Coordinator - Transportation Infrastructure - Georgia

Opportunity:

Parsons is adding a Utilities Coordinator to our team in Atlanta, Georgia, with a focus on supporting the $4.6 billion Georgia SR 400 Express Lanes P3 project. We are a leading design services consultant to the Georgia Department of Transportation and deliver highway and bridge design projects around the State. The Utilities Coordinator will work closely with roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, and environmental teams to deliver on infrastructure projects in Georgia and around the region. Our staff is well versed in both traditional and design-build projects and continues to win work and receive accolades from our clients. This is an office-based role in our Peachtree Corners office in metro-Atlanta.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers to evaluate utility coordination needs on a project

  • Main point of coordination between the project design team and utility subconsultants, to oversee technical and schedule performance and to ensure utility information is shared with designers.

  • Must be extensively familiar with typical utilities encountered on transportation infrastructure projects and their general requirements/limitations.

  • Able to read and interpret the project technical provisions to ensure adherence. Design background and experience on design-build projects is required.

  • Assist in development of schedule, scope, fee estimates, and technical provisions

  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure high quality, timely coordination of proposed and existing utility needs

  • Inform design team of critical information to minimize utility impacts in design and construction

  • Collect utility data from appropriate sources, including research of visual evidence, records, and topo

  • Maintain database of utility correspondence

  • Review design plans and utility conflict analysis

POSITION OVERVIEW :

Participates in the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of construction management assignments including development of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods and systems. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintains first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards. May supervise the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines.

  • Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Collaborates with construction contractors and the Owner's team to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees or airport tenants. Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.

  • Establishes and maintains liaison with the design engineering staff. Reviews and interprets design drawings and specifications to ensure correct technical execution of the work.

  • Manages the resolution for technical engineering problems and coordinates application of solutions.

  • Develops and reviews construction schedules and monitor's progress. Provides schedule and progress appraisal report to the Program Manager and the Client.

  • Monitor's material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.

  • Initiates and leads project closeout throughout the lifetime of a project. Provides support and implementation of the Operational Readiness and Transition (ORAT) plan as projects come to completion and new facilities become operational.

  • Initiates and maintains cost and change management records, progress reports, project records, etc., as required.

  • Will interface with the client and upper-level management, and various stakeholders at a major airport, coordinating construction activities in an active aircraft movement area environment.

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
